The “Escolas Sustentáveis” project aims to involve the entire school community in improving each school’s performance in relation to other schools in the district. In this connection, visits were paid to some schools in Estarreja local authority to find out and clarify possible doubts and publicize the project.

This project reaches not only teachers and pupils but also parents and non-teaching staff. Making schools more sustainable involves everyone and this can be learned through a variety of activities such as ‘gamification’, where pupils, interactively and dynamically, find out about the areas of energy consumption, water resources, waste and others.
